Dr. Tukufu Zuberi is also the Faculty Associate Director of the Center for Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been recognized for his research on African and American society, and for developing and expanding the Africana Studies program at the University. |

Tukufu led efforts in the 1990s to prove the significance of African Census data, which lead to the use of these data in current demographic and social science research. He continues to direct the African Census Analysis Project (ACAP), an international collaboration with African nations. |
